Cornwall, located in the southwestern part of England, is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. The stunning coastline, sandy beaches, picturesque villages, and historic landmarks are some of the reasons why Cornwall is a favourite among travellers. One of the most awe-inspiring sights that Cornwall has to offer is the sunset but you need to find the perfect spot. The vibrant colours of the sky during the golden hour are a sight to behold. In this blog post, we’ll take you through some of the best sunsets in Cornwall.

Godrevy Beach
Godrevy Beach, located near Hayle, is a stunning location to watch the sunset on the Cornish coast. The beach is known for its long stretch of golden sands and crystal-clear waters. You can take a leisurely stroll on the beach, soak up the sun, and enjoy the view of the sea. The sunset at Godrevy Beach is particularly breathtaking because of Godrevy lighthouse that stands tall on the rocks. The lighthouse provides the perfect backdrop to the golden hues of the sky during the sunset. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some seals basking in the sun on the rocks.
Watergate Bay
Watergate Bay is a popular destination for surfers, but it’s also a great place to watch the sunset. The beach is known for its long stretch of sand and rugged cliffs that provide a stunning view of the sea. Perranporth
Perranporth is a charming seaside village that’s known for its beautiful beach. The beach is three miles long and has stunning views of the sea and cliffs. The sunset at Perranporth is particularly stunning because of the reflection of the sun on the water. The sky is filled with hues of pink, purple, and orange, which create a stunning contrast with the blue waters. It’s one of the best sunset spots. The car park is right on the beach front and is easily accessible.
You can take a walk along the miles of golden sand, have a drink at the beach bar or sit on the sand dunes to watch the sunset and large waves. Perranporth also has a range of restaurants and cafes where you can grab a bite to eat while enjoying the view. The Watering Hole is one to visit right on the sandy beach, there is no better place in the summer to watch the setting sun! I should know as I live only 10 minutes away from Peraanporth and it’s one of my favourite places.
St Michael’s Mount

St. Michael’s Mount is a tidal island that’s located at Marazion. The island is accessible by a causeway during low tide, and it’s a popular attraction for tourists in the summer months. The island has a medieval castle, a church, and stunning gardens. Watching the sunset from St. Michael’s Mount is a unique experience as you can see the sun setting over the sea and the castle in the foreground. The view is particularly stunning during high tide at Marazion beach when the sea surrounds the island. You can take a guided tour of the castle or explore the gardens before settling down to watch the sunset. Please note that St. Michael’s Mount is a National Trust place to visit and one of my favourite spots at any time of year!
Lizard Point
Lizard Point is the southernmost point in mainland Britain, and it’s known for its dramatic cliffs and rugged coastline. The sun sets behind the rocks, creating a beautiful silhouette that’s perfect for capturing with your camera. You can take a walk along the coastal path and watch the sunset from one of the viewpoints or relax on the beach and watch the sunset over the sea. With a gorgeous hotel nearby, it’s a beautiful place for romantic getaways.
